LAS campus

Online training

At las campus, you can pursue online courses and modules to acquire or brush up theoretical qualifications for working with laboratory animals.

Our courses are designed for teaching/acquiring the knowledge required for animal experiment work according to EU recommendations and, in Germany, according to the ordinance on protection of laboratory animals (TierSchVersV). A course thus consists of several parts: a general part (Course 01 - general part) and relevant species-specific content (Courses 01.1 and following courses). The composition of the course may be adapted to country-specific requirements. The main focus at present is on the training required in Germany for people who conduct or plan and design animal experiments (TierSchVersV Annex 1 Section 3).

Against this background, “courses” are only open to participants whose institute/facility/course organizer have concluded a framework agreement with LAS interactive and then guarantees/provides practical training for participants.

Module Chicken

C 03 - C 06: chicken

Species-specific content on the biology, husbandry, stress and humane killing of chicken

DE | EN |

The study material for "Modules C 03 - C 06: chicken" is to be seen as supplementary to the general content from modules "C 03 - C 06: general". The two study units together correspond to the species-specific EU modules C 03 - C 06 on chickens.

The learning unit brings together the species-specific content of EU core modules C 03 - C 06 into a single unit that can be tested. It teaches the basics for working with mice and covers topics such as housing requirements, hygiene and health, anatomy, physiology, reproduction, feeding and behaviour, as well as points of reference for the assessment of stress and humane methods of killing.

Cost: 80,00 €

The learning unit alone is not sufficient for qualification according to Annex 1 No. 3 TierSchVersV (EU Funktion A: people who carry out procedures on animals)

C0 3 - C 06: mice

Species-specific content on the biology, husbandry, stress and humane killing of mice

Module Basics

T 20 - T 22: basics on anaesthesia and surgical procedures

Content on anaesthesia, analgesia and basic principles of surgical procedures

DE | EN | FR

This module summarizes relevant information on anaesthesia and analgesia, whose scope of use may range from brief sedation for procedures involving little pain (T 20) to lengthy general anaesthesia for surgical procedures (T 21). The preparation, execution (incl. concrete examples) and follow-up of surgical procedures also form part of the content. The content also covers the basic principles of handling equipment and suturing material as well as hygiene measures in surgical procedures and a summary of wound healing.

The learning unit is to be seen as a task-specific supplementary module and is subject to qualification for activity A (conducting procedures in animals) or B (designing procedures and projects) according to EU recommendations.

Price: 100.00 €

The learning unit is in the context of comprehensive training in animal experiments, including a practical part that is usually carried out by the employer / course organizer concerned and is open only to participants for whom the practical training is guaranteed.
